Nishi singh is an Indian classical kathak dancer and choreographer born in Lucknow, based in Dubai.

Nishi started learning Kathak at the age of 6 with guru pandit Rajendra Gangani ji. Later she joint the kathak Kendra, new delhi, where she trained with Guru (L)Pandit Durga lal ji, after whose sad demise, she was under the wings of Padma Bhushan Guru Pandit Birju Maharaj ji and Guru Urmila Nagar ji. Nishi completed her post diploma in kathak from kathak Kendra (Delhi) and was invited soon after by the song and drama vision of Govt. of India where she performed as A grade artist allover India. In year 2001, Nishi relocated to Mumbai where fortune smiled upon her fate as she got the blessings of the Kathak Queen Smt Sitara Devi ji . After short and intense training under sitara devi, nishi completed her kathak education with eternal gratification to all her esteemed gurus.

Nishi tought, performed and created dance in Mumbai, where she got accreditation from gandharva mahavidyalaya. In 2001 she relocated to Oman where she continued to teach and perform Kathak. She was appointed as cultural convener of the Indian social Club in Oman and was duly felicitated for her contributions to Indian dance by the honorable indian ambassador to the sultanate of Oman. In 2013 nishi arrived on the Dubai scene to continue her dance journey.

Nishi is a grade A artist with ministry of information and broadcasting India as well as an empanelled performer of ICCR. Nishi set up “KATHAK TAAL” to spread and promote kathak in its pure form in Dubai to create a platform for kathak education and nurture local talents.
